Facebook announce Timeline for Business Fan Pages

You know very well that before Three months facebook introduced Timeline features for Profiles. Timeline feature totally changed facebook profile appearance. Some liked it but some didn’t. You also may have Timeline feature enabled in your profile. But now, facebook announced that they are going to introduce the Timeline in facebook pages also. Yes, now you will see the Timeline in your favorite or your own pages. This feature will be coming by March 30 to all pages. But you can see the Preview of the Timeline now. Only admins of the pages can see the Timeline on their pages. Visitors and Likers of your pages will see this by March 30.

Now This Timeline feature is getting positive as well as negative responses. Negative in the sense that many people has become used to with their normal old profile page layout.

Therefore they are not able to accept the new feature. In this article we are going to see the Pros and Cons of this Timeline feature.

Photos, Likes, Apps etc are now on top of the page.
Your all Pictures, like counts, Like Button Apps etc will be on top of the page. This will be plus point as many people can interact with your page.

Keep your Important Post on Top.
This is one great feature which facebook is giving. Now you can highlight your important post or any status which you want that everyone should see. Your highlighted post will appear on Top. You can also Hide and delete the post.

Message Your Fans.
This is also one great feature. Now you can send personal messages or people can interact with you by sending messages. All messages notification will be appear on Admin Panel. This feature was there before but facebook deleted this feature in between. But now you can send messages.

Default Landing Tab gone.
Now this is the demerit of the Timeline feature. Many people won’t like this. This feature is removed because when we go to the page the Timeline will appear which contains almost all the information mixed. So, Default Landing Tab will not work.

Big Timeline Cover.
The profile picture is now small like a thumbnail. If you are using long profile picture for your page, then it will appear small on Timeline. Besides this, now you can add a Timeline cover picture which is 840 pixels wide and 315 pixels in height. Now that is a big size! You can keep your business logo or page logo as Timeline cover photo or you can place any image in that Timeline cover photo. But you cannot keep the picture like advertisement or giving offers such as 50% off etc. You cannot keep the text which is ‘Calls to Action’ like Click on blah blah link or Join us etc. Keep a simple image, which reflects with you fan page.
